Terms of service

These terms cover booking dog care with Lake Country Pets (Ellen Raven, Oro-Medonte, Ontario): in-home boarding, doggy daycare, drop-in visits and house sitting. By requesting a booking you agree to them. How we handle your details is covered separately in the privacy policy.
Bookings and the Meet & Greet
Sending a request does not confirm your booking. Ellen reviews each request and confirms by email or text, normally within four business hours. First-time clients meet Ellen and her resident dogs at a free Meet & Greet before the first stay, so everyone is comfortable. Ellen may decline a booking if she feels a dog is not a good fit for her home, and she will say so plainly.
Payment
You can pay by Interac e-Transfer, credit or debit card, or cash. Prices are shown per night, per day or per visit on the services list and confirmed in your booking. A deposit may be requested to hold your dates, with the balance due before or at the start of the stay. Nothing is charged until your booking is confirmed.
Cancellations and changes
Cancel 48 hours or more before the booking for a full refund, including any deposit. Inside 48 hours a small holding fee may apply. If you come home early, the unused nights are not normally refunded because those dates were held for your dog. Plans change with dogs, so talk to Ellen and she'll be fair about it. If Ellen ever has to cancel, you get a full refund and as much notice as she can give.
Your dog's health and safety
Dogs must be up to date on core vaccinations (rabies and DHPP), and Bordetella is strongly recommended for boarding and daycare. Please tell Ellen about any medical needs, medications, allergies or behaviour so she can care for your dog safely, and bring medication with written instructions. In an emergency, Ellen will seek vet care and contact you as soon as possible; you are responsible for vet costs. If your dog injures another dog or a person, you remain responsible for that dog.
Drop-in visits and house sitting
For care at your home you agree to provide safe access (a key or code), working utilities, and enough food and supplies for the booking. Ellen treats your home with care and keeps keys secure. She travels for these services within about 20 km of Oro-Medonte.
Photos and reviews
Ellen sends photos of your dog during a stay. She may share photos of guest dogs on this site or social media only with your okay. Reviews you leave may be published with your first name and town.
Liability and insurance
Lake Country Pets carries pet-care liability insurance. Ellen takes every reasonable precaution, but dogs are dogs; she is not liable for illness or injury that occurs despite reasonable care, or for pre-existing conditions. Questions about these terms go to hello@lakecountrypets.ca.
